Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas
Everyone!!!

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas Day!
And remember the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Peppermint Popcorn Delishousness

Yes, delishousness is a word, thank you very much. This is an awesome recipe. It has become one of my favorites. And it is so simple.

Here's what you need:
Baker's Premium White Chocolate (9 squares = 1 1/2 boxes)
4-6 candy canes, crushed
Ande's Peppermint Crunch baking chips (optional)
2 bags of natural popcorn (meaning non-salted and non-buttered)
A microwave safe bowl
A large bowl (to mix everything in)

First, pop the 2 bags of popcorn and pour them into the large bowl. Set aside.

Next, unwrap the candy canes and put them in a couple of baggies. Crush them with something heavy. I use my ice cream scoop (it has a metal head).

Once crushed, set them aside.

Unwrap the white chocolate squares and put them into the microwavable bowl.

Microwave chocolate for 1 1/2 minutes, then stir. Microwave again for another 1 1/2 minutes. Stir chocolate thoroughly until creamy smooth.

Pour crushed candy canes into chocolate.

Also, if you want to, pour in some of the Andes peppermint chips.

Mix together decently well.

Pour peppermint chocolate mixture onto popcorn. It'll look like it's not quite enough, but it spreads pretty far.

Mix together. Be patient with this part. It does take a while to get the peppermint chocolate to fully cover the popcorn. Plus it makes a messy bowl.

Then all you have to do is let it sit for about an hour or so for it to harden (or you don't have to if you don't want to. It still tastes good when it's liquidy). And voila! Peppermint Popcorn. Sweet and Easy :-) And a great last-minute treat. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Easy Made Fudge

This is seriously the easiest, most delicious fudge you will ever make. Not joking. I am doing it peanut butter style, but you don't have to if you don't want to (Lars...just sayin).

First, you will need:
Baker's Semi-Sweet baking chocolate - 8 squares
Sweetened Condensed Milk (8 oz can...I think)
2 tsp (and that's teaspoons...not tablespoons...yeah, made that mistake only once)
Peanut Butter (optional...but definitely recommended)
A microwave-safe bowl
An 8 x 8 pan
Aluminum foil

Ingredients...yummers.
First, you need need to cover your 8 x 8 pan in aluminum foil. Set it aside for later.

Next, put all of the 8 chocolate squares and the whole can of sweetened condensed milk in the microwavable bowl. Heat in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Stir well. Then heat again for about another minute.

Stir the heated chocolate and milk until it gets very smooth. Then add the 2 teaspoons of vanilla in. Stir vanilla very thoroughly into the chocolate mixture.

Now add your big heapin spoonfuls of peanut butter...I normally add about 3 (or other flavoring...I've added peppermint chips before). Stir peanut butter in thoroughly.

Once everything is stirred, pour into your foil covered pan.

And voila! Fudge! You'll have to let it cool in the fridge for about 2 hours. Then you can lift it out of the pan with the foil, peel the foil off and cut it into bite size pieces. It is oh so good!

I hope you enjoy!!! Have a wonderful Christmas Eve Eve!

I'm still here...and I have lots of things to post about...but I haven't downloaded any of the pictures. So once I've downloaded a bunch of stuff, there will be a wave of posts :-) I promise. In the mean time, I hope you're enjoying this week before Christmas! Remember to listen to lots of Christmas music!

Monday Inspiration - bathrooms...and some Deer

First off...I just have to brag on my husband a bit. He got his first buck this weekend.
Sorry if you don't like pictures of dead deer...but I had to show it. He actually does all of the cutting and processing himself, so we had a dead deer hanging up in our back yard this weekend. I just don't look at it. And now, we have a lot more venison in our freezer! I'm so excited :-) Good job Trey!!!

And now onto other things...

It's been a while since I've done one of these...an inspiration day. Today's is bathrooms. It is so much fun to walk into an awesome bathroom...so peaceful and relaxing, like a spa.  So here are some fun bathrooms that will hopefully inspire you to design one yourself, d.i.y. a current bathroom, redecorate, or give yourself a pat-on-the-back for already having a beautiful spa-like bathroom :-)

This is Layla and Kevin's at The Lettered Cottage. I love the transformation!

One of my favorites. I imagine this as a kids bathroom. And instead
of a window, it would be a mirror.

Well, there you have it! Hope you're able to get some good ideas :-) Have a marvelous Monday!

Christmas Nesting

Lately I have been sprucing up my house for the Christmas season.  We have all of our shopping done, I'm almost finished wrapping everything and we only have about 4 more Christmas parties to go to :-)  Now I can sit on the couch with a nice hot cup of cocoa and watch "White Christmas" with my favorite, Bing Crosby.

Finally got the tree skirt under the tree. And yes, we have a fake tree.
Makes me feel better when our cat tries to climb the tree.

Isn't it pretty? My sister made the tree skirt last year :-)

Walter trying to help.

He knows he's going to be in trouble soon...he's not suppose to be under the tree.

Our console table by the front entry. There's Mr. Clause! I added glitter to
make him sparkle. I'll show a better picture sometime soon.

Our living room (I'm standing right next to the console table). I need to wash our rug and get that back under the couch. And I need to fix the bench cushion...

Walter over-seeing my picture taking skills.

One of my favorite ornaments. It's so sparkly!

Since we don't have a fireplace I have a hard time trying to figure out where to hang our stockings...

Enter 3M hooks...they seem to do a decent job. Trey's ornament, a reindeer.
Very fitting.

My ornament, a silver leaf. I'm not sure what kind of tree it's from though...
...sorry Ashley!

Our presents finally under the tree.
I hope you're able to enjoy the Christmas season this year! Make sure to take time to sit down and relax with a hot cup of cocoa and a good Christmas movie :-)
